Резюме:

The spread of coronavirus infection has posed new challenges to humanity. Until now, economics has focused on the causes of global economic crises and their consequences. In the modern economy, no critical wave had developed that was caused by health events and the ensuing restrictions. The economic crisis, which began in 2020, has affected both business sectors around the world and public finance systems. The level of local self-government and local finances are also affected by social, health and economic constraints. The aim of the present study is to present an expert assessment of the system of local finances in Bulgaria (after 2020) and on this basis to derive some author‘s recommendations regarding the optimization of the system of public finances.
