Modern business organizations operate in a dynamically developing environment, which constantly faces a number of challenges. Human resource management is extremely important for the successful functioning and development of any organization, taking into account the great individual diversity between people in terms of their needs, interests, values, views, etc. Knowing the definition, characteristics and role of emotional intelligence can help managers apply more effective practices for managing the human factor. The development of emotional intelligence, both management and staff, can have a great impact on their performance and improve the microclimate in the organization, helping them to become more productive, more successful, more communicative and more cohesive in their teams. Recognition and management of emotions, coping with conflict situations, resilience to stress and tension at work and the ability to build partnerships are important conditions for both personal development of employees and the development of the organization.
