After Bulgaria joined the EU, companies specialized in lending entered the credit market. The main differences between the activities of these companies and banks are as follows: – companies specialized in lending cannot publicly attract deposits; – the loans that they have provided are over 70% of the amount of their assets; – a strong sector concentration is observed in the loan portfolio of these companies. For this reason, the dynamics and structural changes in the loan portfolio of the above-mentioned companies are of interest.
