In their history, humans have always tried to subjugate nature and use it for their own interests. With their actions, they change nature, but its influence on them is difficult to control. For this reason, they should consider their activities with the natural environment. The purpose of this article is to present a classification of natural resources, to define sustainability and to demonstrate the necessity of using natural resources in relation to the postulates of sustainable development. The subject is the use of resources in the context of sustainable development, and the object are the types of natural resources.
