In recent decades, tourism in Morocco has experienced an explosive growth. The country has become the most visited tourist destination in Africa, overtaking even Egypt. Tourism in Morocco is developing thanks to the latter’s vast coastline, ancient culture, and turbulent history. It also plays an increasingly important role in the Moroccan economy as it creates new jobs that contribute to economic and social prosperity and to attracting foreign currency and investment. The country has an effective national tourism policy which is yielding significant results.
