Alternative Schemes for Electronic Identification of Persons According to the Electronic Governance Act

Abstract:

This article discusses the alternative identification schemes used by individuals under the eGovernment Act and in particular the identification by qualified electronic signature as a means of authentication. The author concludes that in the application of the existing legal regime a clear distinction should be made between the cases in which authentication tools are used for identifying and establishing the authorship and integrity of electronic statements.
