On Some Aspects of the Mistake of Law in the Criminal Law

Abstract:

The purpose of this article is to analyze if a mistake of law could be an excuse and thus exclude culpability of the actor. It explores whether the principle “ignorance of the law is no excuse” remains relevant in today’s legal and social reality, focusing on Bulgarian criminal law and providing brief comparative legal notes on the mistake of law regulation in some foreign countries.
