Abstract:

The report named “The European Public Prosecutor’s Office” offers an analysis of the positive effect which is expected to follow the establishment of the new european institution as well as the possible challenges before it. First of all the report makes a historical review of the idea for establishment of European Prosecutor’s Office. On the next place the author tries to describe the challenges that can appear due to the necessity of transposition of crimes defined in the “Directive of the European Parliament and of the Council on the fight against fraud to the Union’s financial interests by means of criminal law”. Finally the author makes the conclusion that for the needs of the EPPO, its material competence should be arranged in regulation but not in directive.
