Abstract:
Nowadays, terrorism poses the most serious threat to social security. The crimes constituting terrorism have always been severely punished. Nevertheless, the fight against this complex phenomenon requires further criminalization of some newly emerged activities that are likely to lead to serious disturbance of public order through intimidation or forcing. The present paper aims at clarifying the necessity and scope of criminalization in implementation the international obligations and commitments of Bulgaria in the fight against terrorism. In pursuit of this goal, the author analyzes the different instruments of Bulgarian penal law being developed to combat terrorist offences.
