Abstract:

The article analyses the historical development of the fine to the Bulgarian criminal law. It lists the evolution from the vendetta in the ransom to the fining as a punishment. The article considers the fine as a applied sanction in the Ottoman criminal law of 1858, the Criminal Law of 1896, the Criminal Law of 1951, the Criminal Code of 1956, the Criminal Code of 1968 and her application today.
