Abstract:

The article presents a theoretical and comparative analysis oflegal norm and language norm as types of social norms. The legalnorm is viewed as a prescriptive deontological norm while alanguage norm – as a defining deontological one. The conclusionfocuses on the necessity for passing and enforcing of an OfficialLiterary Language Act regulating the obligatoryusage of the official Bulgarian language and establishment of language rules and the limits of mandatory.
