Abstract:
This report analyzes the role of the multimodal approach within the framework of higher
pedagogical education in Bulgarian Language and Literature (BLL).
In the era of digital transformation, traditional literacy expands into multimodal literacy, requiring
a semiotic orchestration of textual, auditory, and visual resources. The theoretical framework is based on
R. Mayer’s cognitive theory of multimedia learning, A. Paivio’s dual-coding theory, and the concept of
embodied cognition. The report proposes a methodological model for students, redefining the teacher’s role
as a designer of the learning environment and a cultural mediator, prepared for the challenges posed by
Generations Z and Ω.
Keywords:
multimodal literacy, cognitive ergonomics, digital pedagogy, BLL methodology.
