Abstract:

The population structure of the towns in Bulgarian lands during the 16th and 17th centuries was dominated by Muslims and Orthodox Christians. The characteristic features of popular customs and the daily routine, common to Christian and Muslim societies and the interrelations of these two chief population groups, established the social atmosphere of the town – an amazing blend of Christian traditions and Muslim life-style.
