Abstract:

The article follows the dynamics of Bulgarian-Turkish relations during 1915–1916 which were determined by the agreement signed in Sofia on 24 August/6 September. It turned the two countries – erstwhile enemies on the international political scene – into coalition partners in the camp of the Central Powers. On the basis of new source material have been analyzed and highlighted those manifestations of political partnership which lay at the basis of the “marriage of convenience” between Bulgaria and Turkey. The results of the cooperation on the battlefield have also been analyzed. They turned out to be unsatisfactory for both countries.
