Abstract:

The present article deals with the Russian historiographic tradition in kinship and kinship system in China. Historiographic review traces the origin and development of Russian sinology and ethnography from the early 18th century up to the present, with a particular emphasis on Russian publications commenting upon kinship system, kinship terminology and marriage and family organization in China.
