Abstract:
The publication represents a review of letters carefully preserved over the years by Assoc. Prof. Nikolay Kolev, received from the prominent Bulgarian scientists Prof. Hristo Vakarelski, Prof. Stoyko Stoykov, Prof. Maxim Mladenov, among others. The correspondence covers the period from September 16, 1965 to October 24, 1970, with the predominant part of it being from the time of Nikolay Kolev’s specialization in Ethnography at the University of Vienna and the rest—from the first years of his work as a lecturer at the University of Veliko Tarnovo. The information contained in it reveals important details regarding the scientific growth and professional realization of the creator of the Veliko Tarnovo Ethnological School, who lived up to the hopes of his teacher, Prof. Hristo Vakarelski, to continue his scientific work.
