Резюме:

The paper is dedicated to the activities of the “known”, but at the same time quite forgotten figure of one of the influential Bulgarian merchants from the grocers’ circle, a prominent city leader and a long-time member of the Tarnovo Municipality from the early 1830s to the mid-1860s. The 19th-century sources that we used allow us to consolidate the image of this person with his multifaceted activities in the public sphere, and his merit in the fight for enlightenment and church independence.
