Резюме:


The article reviews the problems with disbanded mercenary units in the region of Eastern France after 1360. The goal of the popes and the rulers was to get them out of the country to end the disorder, and on this occasion, the idea of a crusade to the East was born. Without the expected help from Hungary and Byzantium, the count realized that with his available forces, he was unable to effectively oppose the Turks. Instead, Amadeus VI used the detention of the Byzantine emperor John V Palaiologos by the Bulgarians and the current alliance between Bulgarians and Turks as a pretext to attack and plunder the Bulgarian Black Sea coastal towns.
