Резюме:
The present cannot be understood without knowing the past. However, if we perceive the Balkans only as the result of events and personalities developing independently of their geographical basis, then it can hardly tell us too much about the genesis of today's Balkans or their future. Geography has proven to be a decisive factor in the destinies of the peninsula.
