Role of Culture in Foreign Activities of the European Union

Abstract:

Culture is an integral part of the strategic objective of the European Union for prosperity, solidarity and security. The study traces the cultural diplomacy of the European Union. Examples are given, reflecting the EU aid to developing countries in the field of cultural industries, cultural tourism and exchange of cultural goods. Addressed is access to cultural programs of the European Union – an important tool in the ongoing reforms in the countries of Southeast Europe. Presented is the experience of Bulgaria in the integration of culture in the international framework of European policy.
