Abstract:

This article adduces documentary evidence directly related to the Yurukov family of publishers and to their series Mozayka ot Znameniti Savremenni Romani (A Tapestry of Famous Contemporary Novels), which have not been presented in full to the scientific audience so far. The source base makes it possible to reconstruct the activities and contributions of Georgi Yurukov in particular. Without claiming to be exhaustive, the article aims to present the partially traceable but undoubtedly intriguing biography of Georgi Yurukov in one narrative, as well as his contribution to book publishing and to the spiritual development of Bulgaria since the first half of the 20th century. Through the factual data, new details are introduced in relation to the issues of book publishing and distribution in Bulgaria during the period under review.
