Abstract:

The article aims at defining the function of basic cultural models (established in original Old-Bulgarian texts) in contemporary historical narratives. The transformation of the typical Old-Bulgarian literary metaphor for the “ emasculation of the human oration”, coming from a work of Patriarch Eutimii ( The Extensive Passional of St. Petka) has been studied in the historical novel Antichrist by Emilian Stanev. Examples from many Old-Bulgarian literary works have been drawn to prove the thesis that the ideas of the contemporary author are near the Christian standards of creativeness.
