Abstract:
The article deals with the verbs in the Middle Bulgarian translation of the Orations of avva Dorotheos with initial letters (À–Ì), which are used with meanings other than those registered in the classic Old monuments. The establishment of non-fixed meanings in the oldest Bulgarian texts is essentially important in applying the methods for determination of the lexical richness of the Old Bulgarian language by using the data from lately arisen texts. These new data may be used in the study of language processes in the field of historical lexicology of the Bulgarian language. A connection is being made with the semantics of the verbs in the Modern Bulgarian language.
