Double given names in the beginning of the 21st century

Abstract:

The article presents a study of double given names collected via a questionnaire. The analysis shows which are the most common double names and the most popular components of double names in the corpus. An important question is the one about the reasons for a choice of a double name. Through the questionnaire it was established whether the respondents like their names, whether they have knowledge about their etymology and whether the respondents identify equally with both components of the double name. Having a double name often proves to be inconvenient.
