Abstract:

The paper examines exemplary sustainable practices in tourism based on global perspectives, linked to criteria developed by the Council for Sustainable Tourism. These criteria are a starting point in the research and serve as a guideline for applying the Google Trends method to establish the interest of users on the global Internet in sustainable tourism and tourist products. The method application helps to research and systematize sustainable activities from the most popular tourist destinations among users, as well as create a ranking for the most significant destinations in four directions: sustainable tourism, sustainable travel, sustainable hotels and sustainable destinations. The obtained data was processed using Python, which is versatile and used for a wide range of purposes. To meet the current objectives, the Pandas and Matplotlib libraries are used for dispalying data via tables and graphs. The top five countries in each ranking are presented, based on the listed four attributes and popular sustainable practices they are implementing and developing successfully. Through an online survey, good practices in the field of sustainable tourism have been established along with a serious commitment to their implementation and maintenance in the presented destinations.
