Abstract:
The topic of social robots is relevant for two main reasons. First, society itself is becoming increasingly digitalized and artificial intelligence is becoming more widespread. Second, the world’s population is increasingly aging, especially in Europe, Asia, and North and South America. Therefore, the use of social robots by an increasing number of people is expected to rise. The aim of the study is to determine whether social robots are assistants or a threat to humans? The threat is viewed from two aspects. The first one is the question whether purely physically social robots are a threat to their users. The second aspect reflects on whether their mass introduction into use leads to increased unemployment for social workers and domestic helpers. The main assumption is that social robots do not pose a threat to their users, nor do they lead to increased unemployment.
