Abstract:
The aim of this article is to examine the role of artificial intelligence in the process of determining remuneration, as well as to systematise and analyse the effects, advantages, risks and challenges associated with the application of artificial intelligence in the formation of remuneration in organisations. The empirical part of the article presents a study involving 50 employees from 5 business sectors in Bulgaria, which examines attitudes toward the use of artificial intelligence in determining remuneration. The results indicate that artificial intelligence has the potential to increase transparency and efficiency in compensation management, while also raising concerns related to ethics and social inequality. Successful integration of artificial intelligence in determining labor remuneration requires transparency, training, and a combination of machine and human evaluation to achieve both efficiency and social acceptability.
