Abstract:

The study includes presentation of messages and symbols encoded in Bulgarian embroidery and related to the worship of the Sun. In the ornaments of the embroidery, the structure, composition and colouring are synthesized in such a way that they express the nature of Bulgarian national thinking, imagination, and aspiration for beauty. Preserving this heritage is important for the decorative applied art and its development, and also for saving the roots of Bulgarian spiritual culture.
