Notes on the Characteristics of a New State of Crisis

Abstract:

The article observes the changes in the notions of crisis and their reflection on the understanding of contemporary art. Modern culture seems to develop in conditions of well-being, which is able to dampen the sense of crisis in the very essence of art, but not to overcome the grounds of crisis experience. Today, various observers position art as post-aesthetic, post-historical, post-autonomous. Does the upheaval in the awareness of this „after“ art play an essential role in its definition? The report addresses and addresses the grounds of this question without providing answers.
