Abstract:

The present work is an attempt to outline the essential characteristics of street art as a contemporary artistic form within visual art. Street art reflects social, political, cultural, historical, spiritual, and purely aesthetic issues in society. Street art works are expressions of self-reflection on contemporary society intended for, directed toward, and conveyed to the audience. They are perceived and understood by viewers through urban space.
