Abstract:
The „Horizontals and Verticals“ is one of the most significant periods in the creative development of Professor Konstantin Denev. It is the result of a long study and analysis of the interaction between man, horizon, and the surrounding world and phenomena. In these plastic searches, Professor Konstantin Denev uses natural materials through which he achieves a strong plastic effect with minimal intervention, mainly by cutting and splitting. The light that penetrates through the slits of the sculptures plays an important role by creating a different impact on perception of the sculptures positioned in the surrounding space. Professor Denev says that if the universal image of man is to be sought, it must be where the human verticals and horizontals intersect.
