Abstract:

This paper discusses the necessity of learning OOP. It traces the historical development of OOP techniques. Clarificates the contents of basic categories related to software development and their interpretation in different programming paradigms. The differences in software development process at present and in the past are formulated. The advantages of OO approach in design and development of complex information systems are emphasized.
