Abstract:

This theoretical work consists studying the history of the stained glass from its origins and first samples to its development in countries such as France, Great Britain, Germany, Belgium, Italy, Spain, USA and Bulgaria in the main periods of the Art history as Pre Roman, Roman, Gothic, Renaissance, XVII, XVIII, XIX and XX century. There are presented classical and contemporary stained glass techniques and technical details of manufacture such as Tiffany, Collage, Simulated, Grisaille, Fusing, Cement stained glass, Engraved stained glass. Also there is a description of the characteristics and application of the main sorts of glasses of wide use among the artists that realize stained glass windows.
