Abstract:

Pre-trial activities of probation officers is fundamental to the subsequent effective execution of the sentence. To allow the court to issue a sentence commensurate with the seriousness of the offense, it is necessary to examine two main parameters: the culpability of the offender and harm caused or was a risk to be caused by the offense. It pre – trial report to be prepared by the probation officer is a tool that assists the court in selecting the appropriate punishment and individualization of probation measures.
