National Curriculum Reform and First Language Education in the Primary School of Cyprus: from Policy to Practice

The curriculum reform and first language education are analyzed in the article and the huge discrepancy between policy and practice is emphasized. The author explains the reasons why a change not only in methodology but also in the language materials was necessary.
