Abstract:
The author presents schooling development key stages in the city of Veliko Tarnovo. Special focus is placed on the city boys’ school. Activities of well known public figures and teachers in Tarnovo like N. Zlatarski, N. Mihaylovski, d-r P. Beron, T. Shishkov, Tsani Ginchev, etc. are noted. XIXth century educational enlightenment picture in the city of Veliko Tarnovo is highlighted in the context of pedagogical activities of the designated writers of the Bulgarian national revival.
