Abstract:

Physical activity reflects the general workability of man’s organism on the basis of the complex development of the motive qualities and the needed skills and habits for their manifestation. Mini basketball is a game adapted for children at their initial stage of education; the pupils improve their motive skills, develop their physical qualities, the feeling of affiliation as well as work in a team by practicing the game. The purpose of the study is to make comparative analysis of the physical ability and specific skills level of 8-year-old pupils on sex factor. Studied are 96 pupils (45 boys and 51 girls) who underwent sport-pedagogical tests according to 11 signs bearing information about the physical abilities and specific skills of the children. Descriptive Statistics and comparative analysis are applied; the results give us the reason to claim that the differences for 10 of the indicators of the totality we have studied bear advantage in favor of the 8-year-old boys while for six of the signs the differences are statistically important. The boys have better explosive strength of the lower and upper limbs, possess better exactness in passing the ball to a goal, can better lead the ball at high speed. The girls’ advantage is for their suppleness only but the differences are not statistically reliable.
