Abstract:

This article provides a theoretical analysis of the possibilities for the formation and development of natural science literacy in the educational and methodological set of the Prosveta Plus Publishing House (Kabasanova, Peshterska, Varbanova 2019), developed according to the current curriculum in Human and Nature for Grade 4 in the Inanimate Nature part. The basis for the choice of this topic is the intermediate place that the fourth grade occupies between elementary and junior high school, as well as the semantic significance of the specific learning content. Elements of the complex analysis have been used as a basis for the theoretical analysis, which allow us to reveal the existing relationships between the elements of the learning content and the characteristics of natural science literacy. This provides an opportunity to assess the complexity of the systems and to predict possible difficulties in learning the content and the formation of natural science literacy.
