Monitoring the Pre-Competition States of the National Volleyball Team for Girls Under 16 During the European Championship Qualification

Abstract:

The article presents the results of a study on the pre-competition states of the Bulgarian national volleyball team during the Balkan qualification for the European Championship. The research examines the athletes’ cognitive and somatic anxiety, as well as their self-confidence. The players were tested using the Competitive State Anxiety Inventory–2 (CSAI–2) before the first match, in the middle of the tournament, and before the final match. The changes between the three testing periods were tracked and analyzed in relation to the team’s performance.
