Abstract:
This article presents the strategic concept and methodological design of a research project conducted within the National Programme for the Development of Scientific Research and Innovation in the Bulgarian Pre-School and School Education System (point I.2.1.1). The project aims at a systematic review of international academic literature and regulatory documents governing Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) and the development of a comparative matrix of competences required of ECEC professionals. The research design follows the methodological framework of Prof. Popov and integrates documentary analysis, a comparative approach, and expert validation.
