Abstract:
This article explores the loss of vulnerable, endangered, and critically endangered animal species as a resource for philosophical and pedagogical reflection. It focuses on how students can develop moral sensitivity, empathy, and social responsibility through experiencing and thinking about this loss. The role of cultural memory and shared empathy is highlighted as a way to connect personal experience with collective reflection. The study also considers how technology can support learning by helping students explore ethical questions and translate their insights into responsible educational practice
