The beginning of the 20th century on the Balkans is associated with active politics on the part of the West countries and Russia and the unification of Balkan countries in a union aiming at realization of their national doctrines. The end of the 20th century turned out to be “Balkan” again. The countries in the region once again came under the active interest of the West and no longer that much of Russia. The process that followed unlike that at the beginning of the century proved to have a reverse effect. It laid the beginnings of territorial disintegration and state break-up on the peninsula. The results of the last national doctrine connected with the establishment of Yugoslavia were destroyed. Now the Balkan countries are under the power of the unipolar model of the next world masters that impose “the New World Order”. As distinguished from the beginning of the century the dominant role of the West nowadays is performed by the USA. Its policy bears the marks of modern technologies of demagogy and manipulation of public consciousness. The dual standard principle and frequently unscrupulous actions are characteristic of US’ policy in the region especially as taking into consideration the fact that some of the countries are from the former Eastern Bloc that were have been defeated in the last “cold” war.
