Резюме:
The paper focuses on the semantics of the Bulgarian and Greek constructions with the verb ‘want’. It is an attempt to develop a conclusion already made various manifestations of ‘I’ in both languages. Attention has been paid to semantic features, functional areas of ambiguity and use of the two verbs, the division of roles and competition between them, the semantic-syntactic constraints and interaction with other categories in both languages. The nature of linguistic structures, predetermined by the semantic structure of the verb is treated as part of the Balkan view of the world. Grammaticalization of some analytical structures and forms discussed in diachronic perspective argues that the boundary between lexis and grammar is actually a smooth transition from one to the other field.
