After the end of the First World War anarchism strengthened its influence in Bulgaria, and Yambol became its main center. The events in the city from the end of March 1923 are related to a little-known event of the political life of Bulgaria – the denunciation and the mass murders of dozens of anarchists from the agricultural power. These events finally discredit the government of Al. Stamboliyski, and in the face of anarchists, farmers earn a serious enemy.
