Резюме:

The history of Jamaica is a topic not quite developed in Bulgaria, almost unknown to the Bulgarian public. This article aims to trace the history of perhaps the most important English colony in the West Indies from its discovery until the English conquest as part of Oliver Cromwell’s Western project and its establishment as English stronghold in the Caribbean during the Protectorate and the reigns of kings Charles II and James II from the House of Stuart. Particular attention is paid to the establishment of institutions and the enforcement of laws and the relations with the metropolis.
