The government of the Democratic Alliance in the post-war years was a period of economic stabilization, strengthening of local governing institutions and strong social politicization. In this dynamic and difficult time, the mayors of Haskovo, persons with good education and high public culture, showed modern thinking and approach to the city management, as a result of which Haskovo became a modern European city.
