Abstract:
This article presents facts related to the definition of the concept of approaches to learning, as well as their specific aspects in the process of learning in an educational environment. The study of this phenomenon began in the 1970s within the framework of the cognitive-informational approach and of the tradition of studying student approaches to learning. It was conducted in Sweden by F. Marton and colleagues. The results of their interviews with and research on students became known to N. Entwistle (GB) and J. Biggs (Australia), who further developed the scientific work of F. Morton. Today, approaches to learning are accepted as an important cognitive-personal phenomenon, which has an active role in the learning process and determines the quality of the learning results.
