            Abstract:

Professional modelling is increasingly desired, and models are often viewed as celebrities. Research on the group of professional models worldwide is limited, and even non-existent in Bulgarian scientific literature. It is important to investigate the predictors of professional success among models. This study uses two newly created scales – one for professional success and one for engagement in Instagram, along with the Dark Triad (Jones & Paulhus 2014), Self-Esteem (Rosenberg 1965), and Psychological Well-Being (Ryff 1989) scales. The regression analysis performed shows that the predictor of professional success for the group is self-esteem. The results highlight the role of self-esteem in the success of models in the era of Instagram, as well as new phenomena such as influencer culture.
