Abstract:
Professional burnout has been described in the past as a state of stress, depression, and the presence of alienation. Today, it is a process defined as a phenomenon associated with physical and psycho-emotional exhaustion, leading to inefficiency at work, lack of motivation, and loss of personal identity. It is very often observed in people with professions that involve the provision of assistance, with medical professionals being among the most affected ones. Through its study, an assessment of predisposing factors is achieved, and strategies for their prevention and control are developed.
