Abstract:

This study examines the influence of gender stereotypes and attitudes on educational outcomes in Romania, highlighting the persistent challenges and potential strategies for advancing gender equality in schools. Despite significant progress in other domains, Romanian educational institutions remain affected by deeply rooted gender biases that impact both students’ academic achievements and personal development. The research underscores that these stereotypes shape not only students’ self-concepts and ambitions but also affect teacher expectations and instructional methods. To address these issues, the study recommends a multifaceted approach that includes revising curricula, adopting inclusive pedagogical practices, and launching public awareness campaigns to address and transform entrenched gender biases.
